In order to use STORMTRADER™ with the desired trading platform, you must first establish a connection. For this, our software needs a connection to the Expert Advisor, which we have specially developed as a connector. Installation is very easy and can be completed in just a few steps.
When installing STORMTRADER™, a link was created on the desktop that points to the directory in which the connectors are located.
Instructions #
- Click on the “STORMTRADER CONNECTORS” shortcut on your desktop. The interfaces supplied with our software appear in the window that opens. There is a corresponding subfolder for each trading platform. For example “MT4” for Metatrader 4 or “MT5” for Metatrader 5.
- Now open the folder for the respective platform and copy the content (subfolder named “STORMTRADER”) to the clipboard.
- Start the desired Metatrader 4 or 5 trading platform and select “File -> Open Data Folder” from the top left menu in Metatrader. The data folder for the respective terminal will now open.
- From there, navigate to the “MQL4” or “MQL5” subfolder and then to the “Experts” subfolder located there. Now paste the previously copied folder (from the “STORMTRADER CONNECTORS” directory) there. You can then switch back to Metatrader.
- In Metatrader, right-click on the Navigator window and select “Refresh“. The new entry “STORMTRADER CONNECT” should now appear under the “Experts” tab.
- Now drag our connector from the list into a single chart. In the dialog that opens, make sure that trading is allowed for the Expert Advisor and loading DLL files as well. Click “OK” and look at the top right corner of the chart. It should now show that the EA is active.
- Now you can start STORMTRADER™ and click on the connection button in the top right corner of the main window. Select the respective platform there. If everything has been set up correctly, our trading software should now have connected to Metatrader and you are ready for the first trades.
